We are pleased to announce the creation of Downing Family Angus, est. in 2019! Our family has been raising nationally competitive cross-bred show cattle for the past 40+ years. Although we have a strong Angus influence in the genetics of our cattle herd, we decided to switch it up and purchase registered Angus cattle. This past year has been composed of our family searching for cattle that fit within our vision. We wanted clean fronted, stout, well made cattle that would be representative of the breed. In our opinion, we have been able to put together a set of cattle that makes us proud to be apart of the industry.

We would love to introduce ourselves and give you a brief background of our herd! Our Angus herd originated mostly from Fernvale Farms located in Mineral Point, WI. We were fortunate to learn of a great opportunity! We received a call from Mike Sorensen of Livestock Plus ,Inc. for a complete herd liquidation opportunity. Greg May, owner and operator, sold us his entire herd of registered Angus cattle while only retaining a handful. They were the type and kind we had been searching for, along with having a fantastic record of being some of the most competitive in the industry. Afterwards, we added cattle in from Lau Angus, The Thomas Ranch, Marks Family Purebreds, Foxhovens, Highpoint Genetics, and Deer Valley Farm.

We plan to continue to focus on raising Angus cattle that are sound footed, mild mannered, powerful made, and eye appealing. The females are top notch and have a fantastic reputation! If you have questions or just want to visit about the pedigrees of our herd feel free to reach out with questions.
